2008 Docent Training Program

Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings
February 20 – March 29, 2008

Be a part of this community-wide program that protects, restores and informs people about the Watsonville Wetlands.

Sign up for our training program, starting the week of February 20th. Learn about the history and geology of the wetlands. Discover the rich animal and plant life that can be found there. Gain skills in teaching others about wildlife habitats in the Pajaro Valley.

Training will be provided by interesting, knowledgeable instructors, and will cover the ecology, history and restoration of the wetlands. Click here to see the 2008 schedule.

Become a Volunteer Docent

Give four hours a month to any of these activities:

Assist with student field trips.

Assist in the library of the Patrick J. Fitz Wetlands Educational Resource Center, or act as host there and in the Wetlands Nature Center.

Lead tours on Watsonville's wetland trails.

Participate in hands-on
restoration projects.

Host and plan special events
